Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The author

Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
