Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
The incident – described by police as was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
